Adam Salmon has an incredible story of investing as well as a remarkable life story. At 22, he found out that he was going to be a father. As an apprentice carpenter earning $380 a week, Adam and his partner could only save $2 a week. They didn’t let that stop them though, and today Adam joins me on the podcast as a seasoned investor with an awesome portfolio.
With so many lessons in his life story and investing adventure, I think you’ll love this episode!

From Drug Raids to Real Estate Success With Kel Watts
Monday Jun 06, 2022
Monday Jun 06, 2022
Kel Watts has had a wild ride as a property investor. FRom the get go of this interview, Kel shares the story of renting his PPR out to a drug mule (obviously without his knowledge), and the drama that created it.
But in true investor fashion, he didn’t let this experience stop him from investing in real estate. Kel’s experiences taught him the value of a mentor - someone who is emotionally detached from your experiences and portfolio - and how this relationship has contributed to his success.
Today, Kel is a part of the 1% club - the group of Australian investors who own three or more pieces of real estate - and has so much wisdom to share.
We discuss -
3:15 - A drug mule rented out my PPR (and I only found out when the Federal Police raided the home).
15:35 - Prioritising a property mentor
18:35 - Having the courage to change mentors or find a mentor you click with
23:35 - Deciding to share or not share their investment journey with friends and family
29:37 - Breaking life down in to 20 year chapters

From Master Procrastinator to 4 Properties with Geoff McGuinness
Monday May 16, 2022
Monday May 16, 2022
Geoff McGuinness is a reformed master procrastinator. As someone who loved the idea of investing but equally feared the idea of debt, he made some decisions (and paid the price of waiting) that only took him further backwards in his attempt to move forward.
Despite these setbacks (which he explains in the podcast), he’s found the inner strength and resolve - and knowledge - to make some incredible decisions. Now with four properties under his belt and more than $1.5 million in healthy and leveraged debt, Geoff shares his experiences in this insightful conversation.
My favourite quote from Geoff in this interview is “surround yourself with legends and you can’t go wrong.”
